Funding for businesses

The Qualification Opportunities Act (QCG) – the Federal Employment Agency’s (BA) further training initiative

Funding opportunities for in-company training via the QCG

– up to 100 per cent of the costs covered

What does the QCG cover?

The Qualification Opportunities Act (QCG) is the successor to the WeGebAU programme (Further Training for Low-Skilled and Older Employees in Companies). The latter was aimed at employees who do not hold a vocational qualification or who have not worked in their trained occupation or in an unskilled role for four years, as well as at employees aged 45 or over.

The Qualification Opportunities Act has expanded this programme run by the Federal Employment Agency. Companies with more than 250 employees now also have the opportunity to provide their employees with further training, funded by the scheme, through upskilling or reskilling programmes to help them retain their jobs.

A fundamental requirement for this programme is an existing employment contract that extends beyond the end of the further training course. Furthermore, the course must be delivered by an external, certified training provider such as the inlingua Language Centre in Lübeck.
