Job coaching for businesses

Ensure integration. Reduce staff turnover. Harness potential.

Job coaching. To ensure your international skilled workers stay!

Do you employ skilled workers and staff from abroad?
If so, you have no doubt already invested a great deal of time, effort and money:
in language courses, recruitment agencies, red tape, accommodation, induction...

Approach

International professionals are indispensable to many companies. At the same time, experience shows that a successful start in a job does not necessarily mean long-term loyalty to the company.

When foreign employees leave after just a few months, it is rarely due to a lack of professional qualifications. Common causes include language uncertainties, misunderstandings in day-to-day work, cultural differences or the feeling of not really fitting in with the team or the company.

Language courses alone are often not enough. Optimal job coaching therefore requires additional elements: language coaching, language mentoring and the workplace as a learning environment.

Objectives

In language coaching, we tailor our approach to each employee and their specific needs. Our aim is to draw on the coachees’ own resources, develop their ability to communicate effectively in a professional context, and boost their sense of self-efficacy.

Language mentoring means that your employees receive support from an in-house mentor within their immediate working environment.
In doing so, we take a close look at language use: Where does communication take place? How is it carried out? Who is involved?
Building on this, we help to establish a mentorship system (e.g. language tandems) within the organisation.

The workplace as a learning environment is a key element of job coaching. This is where the company’s resources are harnessed: what can the company contribute? Our aim is to work together to identify and overcome workplace barriers, thereby making it easier for your employees to join the company, settle in and remain with the organisation.

Modular solution

Through language coaching, we provide your staff with language support as they start their careers and progress professionally. We guide coachees in dealing with challenging situations in the workplace and strengthen their professional capabilities. Together, we carry out a collaborative assessment of their current situation, develop their language skills, and work in a systematic and solution-focused manner.

Through language mentoring, we support the company in establishing a language mentoring programme in the workplace – moving away from the scenarios used in language coaching towards real-life work situations. The focus here is on the mentees as they interact with their working environment. Topics such as multilingualism in the workplace, language within teams and communicating with customers are covered. We also incorporate the interface of communication into the mentoring process. Models such as language tandems and job shadowing / topic-based shadowing enable colleagues to support further development.

With the ‘company as a learning environment’ approach, we move from the workplace to the organisational level and explore how the company can break down barriers at the level of teams, language and understanding of organisational contexts. What can the company do to make it easier for new staff to settle in, progress and get up to speed? Can language training be factored into the plan? Let’s make culture a priority!

The modular structure of inlingua’s job coaching guarantees a tailor-made solution for your company!
