HanseBelt e.V.

We are a proud founding member of HanseBelt e.V.

In 2008, 35 leading companies from the region came together to promote sustainable economic development along the future Copenhagen–Hamburg corridor, attract skilled workers and managers, and raise awareness of the region’s high quality of life. In this rapidly growing network, which currently has just under 140 members, all business leaders have now agreed on a shared corporate culture that is ‘Scandinavian-inspired’ and puts people at the centre.

Our Managing Director, Dr Astrid Bednarski, was active for many years in the ‘Corporate Culture’ and ‘Communication’ working groups and chaired the latter from November 2017 to November 2022. From November 2017 to April 2026, she was a member of the Executive Board, serving as Chair from June 2021 to early May 2025. She is currently leading the ‘Temporary Accommodation in the Hansebelt’ ideas project group, which aims to identify existing housing in the region that has not yet been made available.

Bilingual Education Lübeck

Bilinguale Erziehung Lübeck gGmbH works to promote, support and expand bilingual education in Lübeck’s schools, with the aim of establishing a comprehensive bilingual programme in Lübeck – from nursery school through to the Abitur – over the coming years. Bilingual teaching and the supplementary programmes designed to promote bilingualism are intended to foster young people’s openness to the world and contribute to their intercultural education. This better prepares children and young people for the increasingly international labour market.

Since 2016, inlingua Lübeck has been actively supporting this endeavour by equipping teachers in bilingual classes with the skills to use English in primary school subjects, through our native-speaking trainers. Since 2019, we have been preparing pupils in the bilingual classes for our A2 language exam, developed specifically for this target group, in order to objectively measure the learning outcomes of bilingual teaching.
Dr Astrid Bednarski was appointed to the advisory board of this charitable organisation in June 2018.

This initiative relies on donations and welcomes any contribution. More information

Marketing-Club Lübeck e.V.

We have been an active member of Marketing-Club Lübeck e.V. since 2008. Our staff regularly attend the high-calibre events and talks organised by this extremely active association in order to keep up to date with the latest developments in marketing and to exchange ideas with other companies from the Hansebelt region.

Dr Astrid Bednarski served on the executive committee from 2010 to 2017. She initially headed the Communications department and, from 2015, was responsible for member support and recruitment.

The association was founded in 2000 and now has well over 200 members active in the field of marketing.

Economic Advisory Council of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck

The Economic Advisory Council for Lübeck was established in October 2014. The Council comprises businesses from across the city. At its meetings, members discuss, amongst other things, urban development, transport, the economy and tourism in the Hanseatic City. Representatives from politics, the civil service and other institutions are invited to attend meetings as guests, depending on the topic under discussion.

Our managing partner, Dr Bednarski, was appointed to this committee right from the start and remains active there to this day.
